What does a home bakery mean to me?
I operate out of my home in Cole Harbour, in accordance with the Nova Scotia Guidelines for Preparing Low-Risk Home-Baked Goods For Sale.
I've done lots of research to ensure I can offer the widest variety possible, while staying within these Guidelines.
I also have up to date Food Safety Training. My clients safety is the most important thing!
What's my process?
First
You can Request a Quote for Cakes, Cupcakes, and Cake-less Cakes by Instagram, Facebook, or Email, or using this Form.
Contact me via Instagram, Facebook, or Email for all other Orders and Inquiries.
I'll gather all the information I need from you to provide a Quote (elaboration below).
All Custom or Bulk Orders are priced using Quotes, to give clients the best value.
But you can view Approximate Pricing Here. This pricing is not a set amount, it's just to give you an idea.
I'll also need to know the approximate or exact Date you'd prefer to pick up, to check for availability.
My Standard Pick Up Availability is currently from 11am to 7pm Sunday to Saturday.
As of May 12th my Standard Pick Up Availability will be 11am to 8pm Monday and Tuesday, and 5pm to 8pm Wednesday to Sunday.
But I can be flexible depending on me and my client's schedules.
Orders placed by Order Form will be responded to as soon as I'm notified. If you haven't heard back from me in 24-48 hours, please contact me.
Second
I'll provide the Quote, and ask if you'd like to proceed.
Third
I start on the Order Confirmation
Which is a document outlining what we've agreed to, payment information, and a reminder to read my Policies And Procedures.
If the client hasn't contacted me by email, I will ask for their email in case there's an issue with social media.
Fourth
I only accept payment via e-transfer.
I apologize for any inconvenience, but this is the best and easiest way for me to track and manage payments, currently.
I can send Invoices if needed.
I will let you know when I do or don't recieve payments.
Fifth
I'll send my address and the Pick Up Notice a few days before Pick Up, or after the Final Payment is recieved.
Whichever happens last.
The Pick Up Notice includes all the information you'll need to know to safely pick up your order, and
I'll also send the Google Maps link to my home, for easy navigation.

How much notice do I need?
Payments are usually due about 1 week after ordering for the Deposit, and 1 week before Pick Up for the Final Payment.
This all depends on when your order is placed. Payments are always due in full, via e-transfer only, before I start baking.
I may need time to ingredient shop for fresh ingredients like eggs and milk.
I may also need time to order specialty ingredients, packaging, molds, and/or toppers - which may take about a week.
I usually have everything I need on hand, and I always encourage clients to reach out even if it's last minute.
All orders are subject to availability.
What's included in your order?
All items come in boxes and/or bags.
All Cakes and Pull-Apart Cupcakes come on boards, in boxes.
I'll never give something to you that isn't packaged.
I use very little branding, if any on the order.
But I do include an envelope with all the Care Instructions, and Thank You and Business Cards, with every order.
What ingredients do I use?
I make the effort to use Organic, Non GMO, Local, and Sustainable ingredients when I can.
I always use quality sugars, milk, eggs, and butter - no shortening (except to grease my pans).
All ingredients I use are what I believe to be the best quality for the price. They've all been repeatedly tested.
Dietary/Allergen Substitutions: Vegan/Egg Friendly, Gluten Friendly, Reduced Sugar Friendly
How far in advance might orders be baked?
Cakes:
Cakes are always baked fresh, up to 3 days in advance of pick up.
Cakes usually aren't decorated until the day before pick up. Sometimes 2 days before, sometimes the day of.
Cupcakes:
Cupcakes are best enjoyed as fresh as possible! So I always bake them the night before or day of Pick Up.
Buttercream:
Buttercream may be made and refrigerated up to 3 days, or frozen before baking.
Usually I make Buttercream as soon as I'm about to use it, but I always preserve leftovers.
Fillings:
All Fillings are made the day the Order is filled. Caramel may be made further in advance.
Cookies, Brownies, Lemon Bars, etc:
These are always baked the night before or day of Pick Up.
I seldom freeze Cookie Dough, but sometimes store it in the fridge. I do prefer baking them right away, though.
Decorated Cookies:
Dough may be made and refrigerated and/or frozen for up to a week before baking.
Decorated Cookies are baked about 3 days before pick up - don't worry, they get better after a few days.
Decorated Cookies take about 3 days from baking, to decorating, to packaging.
